Peter Sullivan, CIC

Principal

Peter Sullivan joined Sullivan Group in 1991 after a successful career in the medical laser and bioinstrumentation field. He founded Sullivan Group’s Clinical Trial Service Industry and Technology Practices in 1995, specializing in global insurance and risk management services for the biotechnology, life science, nutraceutical, testing laboratories, medical and high tech, environmental, and clinical trial service industries. He also co-founded Sullivan Group’s Emerging Markets Risk Finance Practices which provide unique insurance and risk management services for companies from start up, to M&A to IPO, as well as corporate governance structure transactions.

Experienced with advisor driven accounts, emerging technology, life science, clinical trial service industry, and international risks, Peter specializes in global technology with a special focus on the life science / clinical trial service industries. Working with both national and international premier accounts, Peter works with clients in manuscripting professional, directors & officers, products, cyber, and property and liability forms to complement their unique exposures. He is a recognized expert in negotiating and placing product liability, clinical trials, directors & officers, mergers & acquisitions, professional liability, and cyber liability policies. Peter also has extensive experience underwriting international risks.

He speaks regularly on global insurance and risk management issues relating to the technology, Lifescience, and clinical trial service industries. He has been invited to talk to the following organizations: The Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Drug Information Association, Regulatory Affairs Professional Society, and WCG MAGI Clinical Research, as well as at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services where he serves as an adjunct professor.

Peter’s involvement in the community includes being a member of the Northern Essex Community College – Clinical Research Program Advisory Committee, UMass Medicine Development Council and the Worcester Regional Research Bureau. He has attained the Certified Insurance Councilors (CIC) professional designation and is currently pursuing his Licensed Insurance Adviser designation. Peter holds a bachelor’s degree in physics (with specific focus on lasers and electro-optics) from Denison University.
